I fucking hope to god it's not Maverick. Fucking jackasses. I don't think Matt is on good terms with them. Sub Pop seems like a good fit for The Rentals.

well...the first thing they're gonna want is a good distrobution deal in the US and Europe....then they'll need a label that won't hold them to anything more than a one record contract....

So, a label that has a great deal of distrobution and press management (indie/rock music magazines idealy), and has the ability to make matt hapy. That's what it will come down to. So it's either going to be a friendly major along the line of subpop or it could be In Music We Trust who will at the bare minimum, supply decent distrobution....but nothing else really.

I hope it's not In Music We Trust. While I do appreciate how they pretty much let Matt do what he wants with the music and artwork, and I do think the solo album was a good fit for that label, I think The Rentals should get some more promotion, something IMWT can't seem to do.

maybe matt should go the route of "let me pass" and pull the weezer card afro ... Matador would be good...barsuk...Sub Pop is a definite good choice.

Geffen can suck it, Maverick can blow me

I'd go with SubPop. It would be sweet if Suicide Squeeze did it.

I don't know how I feel about Matador...also, what's the beef with Mavrick? I am out of the loop, what's going on with that?

Well, look at what they did too Matt with Seven More Minutes, first they made him go back in the recording studio and change it numerous times. Then, when they finally released it, they hardly promoted it.
