On to a real topic now, if Matt puts the Rentals back together for touring this year and the next, who do you think's gonna return as well?

One or both of the two Haden triplets who were once part of the Rentals (Petra and Rachel)
Cherielynn Westrich (very unlikely; is currently involved in both Slow Signal Fade and into restoring cars)
Jim Richards
Rod Cervera
Tom Grimley (the original Moog-meister)

The way I look at the Rentals: their lineup changed many times. To give out an example of a well-established act with ever-changing lineups: the jazz-rock band Steely Dan has seen a lot of revolving members during the '70s and early '80s, including two (Jeff Baxter and Michael McDonald) that later performed with the Doobie Brothers.

And if ever they cut anything new for 2012, cover songs or not, do you think they will ever include an electric piano (Fender Rhodes and/or Wurlitzer) and clavinet?

this was the line-up from the show in Japan
Matt Sharp - Vocals
Lauren Chipman - Viola, Synthesizers and Vocals
Jamie Blake - Vocals and Moog Synthesizer
Keith Murray - Guitar and Vocals
Tim Wheeler - Guitar and Vocals
Mark Hamilton - Bass Guitar
Alan Lafaro - Drums

but seriously, what's with you and the cover songs? wouldn't you rather hear original material?

But I know we all can't stay here forever,
so I want to write my words on the face of today.
and then they'll paint it

Yes. Even if they do cut more original material, what I am hoping for is not just their '90s bordering on '80s sound, but, also, a prog-rock or R&B vibe in some of this new original material.
