Hi everybody,

(one more post, trying to bring a bit of life to this board)

OK, I know that the Rentals font was already mentioned on another thread (in this one: http://www.mattsharp.net/fanboard/index.php/topic,1060.msg15770.html), and identified as Future/Data70.

Sorry, if the following has been spotted before (I searched here on the forum, but did not find it).
I noticed that the "Songs from the black hole" cassette tape that appears on the rear cover of "Alone" (CD of River's demos), uses the same font for the logo.
(I join a scan for the rear cover of Alone (SFTBH.jpg) and one for Return of the Rentals (ROTR.jpg))
Maybe it's just a coincidence.

i was reading about matt and his assholism with notes from cherie in the rivers biography.
the jist i got from it was rivers had the songs from the black hole as concept
album that he was working on and then matt ran with the idea.
i don't know if river's music had synths (moogs in particular, since that sounds
more like something that tom grimley brought to the table)
but it's worth a read i guess, i just picked up and read the matt sharp stuff
in about 20-30 minutes.

Idk, i mean you can listen to the songs on Alone I & II and other stuff from SFTBH, and you can see how it could be similar with the synths and stuff, but when it comes down to it, it's just not as good as the rentals.
Also, I don't think it's really fair to go on calling anyone an asshole, because quite frankly none of us were there, and we don't know what happened. Just because it's posted on the internet doesn't mean that it is a true account of whatever went down between them.
