Hello. Very obscure link for you here: http://www.orkneytoday.co.uk/news_item.asp?newsItem=1627About halfway down, there is this: "And we are doing a recording on Saturday for The Rentals, who are an American indie/pop band who are making a compilation of bands doing covers. It should be good fun." Anyone able to shed some light on it? ie. Who else is involved; Release dates; etc... Cheers.

I have news! My friend sent me this info a few weeks back, but with finals and all, this is the first chance I've had to post it here. He got it from the band Copeland's website: "Copeland is excited to announce we have been asked to contribute a song to an upcoming tribute to the RENTALS (other participating acts: Tegan and Sara, Ash, Morningwood, Motion City Soundtrack, The Yeah Yeah Yeah's, Ozma, and more to be announced)! This should be out sometime in October! We will be putting our spin on the Rentals song “Getting By”." That is all the info we could find, but it should still be pretty amazing. In other news, that same friend saw Copeland last night, and the lead singer told him that they will be joining the Rentals on the road this summer. Again, that is all I know of the subject. Any more news, I will most definitely let it be known to all.

that list of bands sounds entirely plausible, but that info doesn't seem to be anywhere on Copeland's site.
made up? not made up?

Awesome, I'm not surprised MCS is in on that, especially since they use a moog. I'm excited to hear that since I'm a big fan of them (lost count of how many times I've seen them... they're very good live) I wonder what song they're doing
