Once upon a time I bought a moog that was a good six years older than me. (I'm 21)

it took me 10 months to obtain this... I bought it D.O.A. at a smokey, dingy, scummy music store miles below the "New Jersey Mason Dixon line" from this bum of a salesman. He told me I could get it from him for 600 if I paid a 300 down payment. I agreed and he gave me his word that he would fix it...this was in April of 2006.

Fast foward to late November...I've called the guy about 37 times since April, given him authentic schematics, sent in other friends to "check in"...and it's always remained open with a ton of disconnected solder points. I tell him that I absolutely needed it by December 4th because I was leaving on tour...and didn't want to rely on an MG-1 to "do the deed". So he gives me his word to fix it...and of course he doesn't touch it. He instead gives me a Roland Micro Composer (look em up...it's sad) as compensation...

Since I would have to CV this to some kind of other keyboard (no midi at all) I was screwed...luckily I wasn't actually going on tour. So I returned a week later after my little "mini-tour" and ask to see the moog...still dead. So instead he offers me the composer synth for the 300 I paid him 9 months earlier. I instead offer to take home the busted moog to find someone else to fix it...

"Ya know, I was just about to recommend that"         ...assclown

so I end up putting out a plea for help on the moog message board...and within a few hours a gent who lives an hour away offers to fix it free of charge. The guy is an analog circuit builder. I was saved. Turns out the 2nd oscillator was fried...and a lot of other stuff inside was botched. He cleaned the whole thing out, changed every capacitor, rebuilt the 2nd oscillator, re-soldered every point, and upgraded this 1979 prodigy to the standards of a 1984 prodigy. I gave the guy 300 for doing such an amazing job.

I just so happen to be knee deep in recording demos...so I got this back just in time! I'll grow some balls and post some music in a couple weeks for all of you to judge.. patience pays off sometimes.

THE END.
