I play bass in a 3 piece band (2 acoustic guitars [one of the players also sings], a bass, and we use a keyboard from the late eighties for percussion. [http://www.myspace.com/newmenbandpa]) When we record sometimes I like to use his Minimoog for my bass parts, but I would rather not carry that piece of eqipment around just to play a few Moog driven basslines during our 2 hour sets.

Does anyone have any good tips for achieving that Moog fuzz sound during a live performance with a bass guitar? I'm open to anything from pedals (ideal) to RTAS or VST plug-ins.

Thanks.

have you tried any of the synth pedals there are out there? boss, digitech, ibanez, EHX, Moog. I'm sure there are more out there too.
I have an ibanez and a digitech. you can get some cool sounds out of them, but it's quite easy to just get some novelty sound, instead of a good sound.
another trick you can try is to just try out fuzz pedals in combination with an envelope filter
