After their triumphant return to concert stages in the US, Japan and Europe in 2006, The Rentals announce the release of their first new material in over 8 years alongside a comprehensive headlining tour of the US in the summer of 2007. The Last Little Life E.P. (Boompa Records) was born while the band was writing and rehearsing new songs for their yet to be recorded, but highly anticipated third full length album, expected early ’08.
The Last Little Life E.P. stays true to the band’s trademark infectious and catchy pop songs while also branching out into new musical territory. The three new songs “Last Romantic Day”, “Little Bit Of You In Everything”, “Life Without A Brain” were mixed by the producer / engineer Joe Chiccarelli (The Shins, White Stripes). The four songs cycle concludes with a new arrangement of their classic “Sweetness And Tenderness” (mixed by Rich Hauser).
I'm happy to announce that The Rentals latest release, The Last Little Life Ep, is now available for pre-order here. http://therentals.shop.musictoday.com The first one hundred copies of the EP that are pre-ordered will be autographed. And if you purchase tickets to a show and pre-order the EP, you will be entered in a contest to have a meet and greet with the band.
Gearing up for their August 14th release, The Rentals will kick things off at the end of June with several intimate warm-up dates on the West Coast previewing the new songs, culminating in a residency at LA’s famed Spaceland, every Saturday in July. Then the rest of the summer will consist of touring support of the EP. The Rentals launch their 44 date Last Little Life Tour with special guests Copeland and Goldenboy on August 1st in San Francisco, CA. The full rundown of the tour can be found in the tour section.
