we arrrre
we are we are
clap clap!

i'm too poor to go to shows. i used to spend all of my spare money on shows and books, but now i'm way too broke. lame. i'm going to try and see ween when they come to austin, though.

the guys from clap clap are awesome. i think that was my third time seeing them, I'm so happy they finally have
a cd. kick ass. the guy that mainly plays the synths is cool I always talk to the guy.
i was close to the point of not being able to afford going to shows, but then i had to go out and get student loans.
you know. gotta spend that money.

i have seen the swindles live,
my friend paul plays drums for them.
also, have seen rasputina for the 3rd or 4th time. i forget really.
but my favorite thing was seeing my brightest diamond open for them.
i'm in love with hugo largo. i mean.
yes. im in love with hugo largo.
and mimi goese (GACY!) and i even told her (shara from my brightest diamond) that.
and that she sounded like mimi goese from hugo largo.
i hope she took it as a complement.
since i figure it was (i love hugo largo, see above).

saw caribou. they were okay. but played more of their newer
stuff. i thought the sound was pretty shitty. it was
an outside venue in austin. club deville or something.
but the good part of the night was seeing born ruffians.
they were dynamite, very catchy. they mentioned they'll
be coming back to austin for sxsw.(they're from canada)
so i was happy about that.

hi there. am i the only person that actually goes out to see live music?
saw the octopus project for their homecoming date from their recent tour
supporting their new lp hello avalanche.
it's pretty terrific if you guys are looking for something to listen to.
also playing was cue, and horse plus donkey.
didn't get into horse plus donkey but cue was pretty okay.
they reminded me of octopus project actually. but they have a violin player?
awesome.

I think we should rename this thread to "What live shows has Eddy seen recently and friends".

I think we should rename this thread to "What live shows has Eddy seen recently and friends".

WOW is this what social atrophy looks like? this place is dead! I have an excuse, as one of the oldest, I probably have the most bills and responsibilities. Come on guys have some fun. Trust me you'll never be younger. I haven't been to hipster heaven (Silver Lake) in months. But I have seen Junior Brown again (probably the best and most versatlile guitarist ever) once you get past the honky tonk stuff. Just go see him live, any guitar player will not be dissapointed. I will go see Social Distortion (3rd time) in January. Maybe i'll see something last minute before the year ends.

"Small shows" have become pricey out here in L.A. and even dive bars known for live acts love to use TicketWeb if not TicketMaster (can you say kickbacks?) so its harder and harder to just show up at venues and buy at the door without risking a soldout show for the cool bands. I almost saw Beck. He does surprise shows in Silverlakes Spaceland / Echo all the time but it  sold out in seconds on the web. I decided to go wait in line for the few tickets they'd sell at the door but no luck.  Oh well, I'm even getting too lazy to update the concert blog on my Myspace let alone come on here and update.

Anyway its 3am my time and It's a sleepless night again. I hope you all stay social and courteous to one another even if the Rentals hoopla has died down for now and Kevin has abandoned us ;o)

P.S. I will "END" anyone who messes with this this incredible thread! ;o)

That was really odd.  However, someone made a really funny comment: How the hell did one of my all time fave bands /songs / music vids end up associated with weed? - Is "friends of P" code for some really powerfull, extra sticky strain of Kush? - Ooo Woo Hoo Hoo indeed!

i haven't been out lately to be truthful.
last time was a few nites ago to see the tex pistols.
local sex pistols cover band that celebrated the 30 year anniversary of the sex pistols playing
in san antonio by playing the original set list.
pretty fun.
other music related fun includes seeing control and the joe strummer doc on the same night.
i'm a big fan of the clash so that was fun.

they went over joe strummers life leading up to his first band
and then going to the clash and how it the band degenerated,
then about him post clash.
what i thought was kind of dumb was some people coming in to comment about joe and the clash.
for some reason it just didn't seem right to see johnny depp with his braided pirates goatee
talking about it no matter how relevant.
bono did come in and said some cool things though, and i can honestly say i've never been
a huge fan of him so that was something alright.
i never got to see the joe or his solo stuff so seeing a whole doc on him and the clash was pretty cool.

I'm going to see Queensryche next Friday. First show in too long. So now I'm listening to a hell of a lot of Operation: Mindcrime!! (I stole Panic at the Disco's exclamation point)

I went to go see some local bands play this Saturday at some house off campus its was a pretty good show a lot of people showed up. The first band to go was 52ft Eye Swore the only Ska band in Lubbock and they were actually pretty good a lot of fun to watch and listen to. After that was My Millenor a mostly instrumental band, I didn't really like them that much but I have a hard time getting into to all Instrumental bands. And last was The Annihilator the band is made up of a few friends of mine and they are actually pretty good, everybody was really into even the frat boys.
