Lets keep this thread going please - everyone check in with the bands you've seen or will see.  Let's see what Live Shows Rentals fans are willing to attend . . . . . . . . . . .

I pryed myself away from work long enough last month to check out:
The Muffs - these guys have been around for over a decade, i cant believe i never saw them before.  Great show at Spaceland.
DressyBessy - an early intimate show at The ECHO.  Another great girl fronted band.
ChicksOnSpeed - these chicks are definitely on speed.  I was expecting to see mostly synths on stage but thats too musical for these girls, i counted 4 laptop computers on stage just looping noise. They did do a cover of "Warm Leatherette" until the sound went out - must have been a virus.

I also saw the Weezer/FooFighters at long beach arena.  Shitty venue, FF sounded better then W as far as the sound mix, those Weazer geeks must have been playing through their LINE 6 PODS again.

That was really odd.  However, someone made a really funny comment: How the hell did one of my all time fave bands /songs / music vids end up associated with weed? - Is "friends of P" code for some really powerfull, extra sticky strain of Kush? - Ooo Woo Hoo Hoo indeed!

Well this year I went to go see Cafe Tacuba in the summer, then I went to the Foo Figthers/Weezer concert, then i was suppose to go see Coldplay but they Hurricane hit the day of the concert so it was cancelled. But know I got tickets for when they come back so no harm.

Oh yeah let me tell you all my story on me trying to get Rollingstones tickets.
I woke up early with my parents to go buy the tickets we got there before they even went on sale, I was 3rd in line to get tickets, and when it became my turn they sold out.  cry

wow. I love the bands you've went to see.
Last thing i saw was architecture in helsiniki with dr dog and loxsly a month or so back.
Also saw weezer with FF and was properly impressed by their live skills (weezer, I was
counting the minutes to when FF would be done so me and my friend could make the trip back home)
I'm going this weekend, hell or high water to see the casting couch in austin.
good band. Don't know how to describe them other than it's fronted by a girl and a little rockabilly.

I went to see Chicks on Speed when I was home in Houston for Thanksgiving break, but it was just the DJ. Or something.

Some highlights from this year have been:
-The Hives (I think that was 05...)
-The Joggers
-Austin City Limits Festival (I personall saw The Arcade Fire, Blues Traveler, Franz Ferdinand, The Walkmen, M83, Mates of State, Death Cab for Cutie, Spoon, The Allman Brothers, Buddy Guy, Widespread Panic, Oasis, The New Amsterdams, Kaiser Chiefs, and Tortoise).
-Ben Folds, at an Austin City Limits Taping
-Architecture in Helsinki
-The (International) Noise Conspiracy (free show on campus!!)
-MIA

I think the only concert that I know of coming up is Explosions in the Sky, which should be good. I wanted to buy a bus ticket to go see Matt play, but I have class that I have to go to on Friday, and the buses take a while. Oh, well. Next year I am my friends' mom's travel companion for work (she works for Continental), which means that I get to fly for free... which means that I will be seeing a LOT of shows. Yay! I'll likely be following The Rentals all over, if things work out.

I saw Weezer back in May at the Electric Factory in Philly... cool to see them in a smaller venue. Then I saw them with the Foo Fighters in Philly this past Oct. Amazing show, the Foos were especially good. I saw Fall Out Boy and Motion City Soundtrack in Philly also, really good show actually. No plans for shows right now

it was pretty goddamn great. my friend introduced me to him before the show so i was able to talk to him. i got his autograph and he did a doodle in my sketch book. during the show, he wore my elton john glasses and dedicated "the man with two brains" to me. it was by far the greatest night of that year, and possibly my life. jesus i sound like such a fangirl.

he played quite a few rentals songs,  and (of course) songs from his album. goldenboy also played throughout the entire show. over all, it was a very a+ evening.
