Frank Black talked about Pixies in a XFM radio interview
"We might. We (bassist Kim Deal, drummer David Lovering and guitarist Joey Santiago) do get together and have private jams together, but not for public consumption."
Full article: -------------------------- Frank Black doesn't rule out Pixies reunion tour
Frank Black says he has not ruled out the possibility of a Pixies reunion tour - and revealed the band still get together to jam.
The Pixies officially split in 1993 after recording five albums together but are still revered by critics and fans.
Black, now a successful solo artist, admits the idea of reforming the band is never too far from his mind, but he has reservations.
He told London radio station XFM: "I do dream about the Pixies reunion I do have to say.
"It's like those schoolboy dreams when you don't do your homework and you don't study for the test, but I'm at the gig and we're hanging out, but it's an utter failure and I don't know the songs, and hardly anyone turns up for the gig and people walk out. That's what I'm afraid of, that it'd be a big, big failure."
But he added: "We might. We do get together and have private jams together, but not for public consumption."
Black has also just announced a nationwide tour with his current band The Catholics to promote their forthcoming album Show Me Your Tears.
The 15-date tour opens at the Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh on September 27 and closes at the London Astoria on October 15. --------------------
Funny though how last year I read a frank black interveiw in a local newspaper and Frank Black said the only way the Pixies would reunite is if they were asked to be the first band to play a concert on the moon.
It must be a love-hate relationship

I would think so, but then again i don't know what the reaction would be from the MTV generation with some old guys singing teen angst.
Although at the same time i think pixies music was ahead of there time and it would blow any new music out of the water.

50 cent sucks... every time I hear "in da club" I wanna start jabbing myself with a fork... but seriously that song came on the other day when I was lifeguarding and I made them change the radio station.
I would be ecstatic if the Pixies did a reunion tour, that would be so rad

Yeah, atleast eminem raps with some expression in his voice, 50 cent has no talent, if you want some good rapping check out Big Daddy C by DJ Moog and DJ Spork Featuring Master Beats.

from the frank black website:
"I have heard from a close and reliable source of our gallant hero, Frank Black, that this is the Official Wordâ„¢ on the Pixies reunion:
"Finally, as for the latest rumor (#398) that the Pixies are going to reunite for a tour (as mentioned by FB on London's Xfm radio)... here's the lowdown from the inside : The Pixies will get together later this year to record a new double album of Latvian children's lullabies, after which they will tour each and every country whose name begins with the letters Cz." So there you have it!"
but i suggest all of you instead of purchasing tickets, save your money and invest in a sense of humor.

that posting from the frankblack.net IS a joke... but frank black talking about "fantasies" of a pixies reunion tour isn't a joke.. or at least it wasn't made up.. he did say it during the radio interview.
Now there if you were to visit the msgboard of fb.net people are just as confused as us as to whether frank black was serious when he said that or if he was just pulling the interviewers leg.
It's a tough one to figure out because frank black, just a year ago, was very blunt in suggesting that the pixies would not reunite.
