their drummer rachel left to play with her other band norfolk and western full time.  petra has joined the group as well as drummer john moen (has played with stephen malkmus and the jicks).

just checked the news page and it looks like she did play on the album: "Ms. Haden is an erstwhile member of That Dog and the Rentals and has carried on a very impressive solo career in the meantime. Her talents grace many a track on the upcoming Decemberists record, and we’re really pleased as punch to have her singing and violin playin’ follow us on the road. "  can't wait.
